About Dr. Sieberg

I have lived in central and southern Illinois most of my life. In grade school, I lived in and near Brownstown, went to high school in Carlyle, and attended Kaskaskia College before transferring to SIU in Carbondale. I completed medical school at SIU in Springfield and finished my residency in family medicine, also through SIU in Decatur. I have worked for other doctors, for a hospital, and have also had my own practice. For two and a half years I had a mobile practice in which I only made house calls. In 2017, I obtained certification through the Institute for Functional Medicine to become a certified functional medicine physician.

I currently reside in Decatur, but my office is located in Effingham.   I am a member of Southside Baptist Church in Effingham and am attracted to the Effingham area because of the traditional and conservative values that have long defined the middle section of our country. Effingham is making the right decisions that are bringing economic prosperity to the city and surrounding communities.

I think the reason we are on this earth is to help others and to support and build up others. By doing so, we also support and build up ourselves. So, I think it is very important for me to do what I can to help patients improve their quality of life so that they can enjoy living and being with their loved ones. I prescribe medications to treat conditions to help achieve this goal, but I also offer lifestyle modifications that can help increase healthiness through more natural interventions. Such things as eating a quality diet, getting enough restoring sleep, exercising appropriately, managing one’s stress level, and having good relationships are all very critical components to promoting health. There is so much wrong information on the internet that working on such things can be confusing, but I am able to guide patients to the most effective modifications to improve health.
